Dr Andrew Reeves

Andrew ReevesDr Andrew Reeves is a freelance trainer, author, editor, supervisor (of clinical work and research) and counsellor/psychotherapist, with over 25 years experience working in a range of settings, including secondary mental health care; child protection; with vulnerable adults; higher education and in schools.

He is author of Counselling Suicidal Clients (Sage, 2010), An Introduction to Counselling and Psychotherapy: From Theory to Practice (Sage, 2013), Challenges in Counselling: Self-Harm (Hodder Education, 2013), and co-edited with Prof Windy Dryden Key Issues for Counselling in Action: Second Edition (Sage, 2008) and The Handbook of Individual Therapy: Sixth Edition.

He is series editor for a new series of books by Sage, due in 2015, and will be author of one of those books, Working with Risk in Counselling and Psychotherapy.  He is a former Editor of Counselling and Psychotherapy Research journal.  He was currently Lead Author for the BACP/Department of Health Counselling MindEd e-learning project, developing free e-learning resources for counsellors and psychotherapists who work with children, young people and young adults.

Andrew is the current Chair of the BACP.
